oh my goodness!

So I am officially laid off from work, which is good. I can take time to work on items. Today, I got a note card. While handling the situation, I logged into the marketplace then looked at my inventory. I have around 20 unlisted items >.< omg. I need to fix this tonight or tomorrow, cause I have homework to do all weekend. So I am going to have to log in and take pictures then make some advertisements when I'm free. (fixing my bedroom right now so i can move around easier. :P Very important.) I'm glad I don't have school until Tuesday. This will give me time to work on advertisements. School will be over in a little more than a month. I'm hoping to redo my Shiro outfit then. I would not have the time to do it now. I hope i can work on crow, ganta, and the others later too. I love that show :D I'm also hoping to make a limited edition happy hat. Limited edition as in only on request will it be given or if you can find its hiding place. hehe. I love fun things like that.

I also need to update my store so it is the same as my marketplace. I feel bad that my marketplace has more than my own store. Ahh so much to do! haha. I need to make a list! It feels good to work on my store again. RL can be so boring at times.

Mistakes

We all make mistakes. I made a mistake that I'm not sure I can recover from, in the way of getting back what i lost. I dropped my laptop. It had new clothes in it and other products I was going to release. I have an outfit called shiro, made after shiro of deadman wonderland, that I was going to redo. I didn't understand shading and wrinkling at the time because I had forgotten how to do it. i do now....but now the outfit is gone since it was saved in that hard drive.

Oh and backing up, not that great. Why? >.> ugh my "backup drive" was just crappy when it came to use it for actual back up. Its great to use for storing, but not back up. -_-

It took me weeks to get the shiro outfit down correctly and would have only taken a couple hours to fix the shading on it. I don't like the wrinkles or shading. It looks horrible, imo. I'm going to have to wait til the college semester is over to recreate it.

I did get my pony skirts uploaded, just no pictures for the promotional ads. Those were saved on the hard drive. That is easy in comparison to making an outfit. I just need time to make the ads. I did lose my mini skirt template that i use to make mini skirts. Yeah :D i'm lazy so i made a template that gets the lines where I want them. Plus its easier than measuring again every time while I was on a mini skirt kick. :P

I will recover. My SL sissy is wanting to help see if i can recover information off the hard drive. She has some system and does work IT. We're going to do it after Nov 9th. I'm caught up in tons of school work until then. Ahh...end of the semester is lovely >.> isn't it? XP

I'll get back to creatinga nd maybe posting on my blogs when the semester ends. Who knows. Also sounds like rl work is gonna lay me off for a month or so. Worried? nah i'm not. means more free time to create. YAY!

I'm not dead...yet

so...i know i haven't done anything, literally. I got on sl on the weekends, but I was too tired to do anything. I also had a rl job that kept me busy...but I'm back and trying to design. I've learned that you step away to long and it takes time to remember how to do things. i've gone over old videos and i'm slowly remembering how to do things. It will take time, but I'll get there.

Right now, my only downside is sometimes my f and d keys don't work >.> I do have a lot of upkeep and updating to do with Creative Motivation and Naveh blogs. I don't update CM products much anymore like I should. I'm going to go through it and see what I need.

Have a good day!

Puppet warp

This feature never showed up on my old computer. I guess cause i have the 64 bit version on photoshop that I have a different story going on. Not sure. :p Last night, a friend inspired me to make a mask on the tattoo layer cause she bought a low price mask but had to keep it far from her face to work. I wasn't really up for designing one from scratch but i did want one. So....I used a picture i found that just made a great mardi gras mask...sadly...it looked like this...

Sorta makes me sad to look at it hehe.
Not much of a smiley face and not flattering for a female. So.....I went into photoshop and edited it. While editing i ran into a feature called "Puppet Warp" It was quite interesting. it has limits but you can curve and redesign pieces using it. I was able to turn it into a full female smile. :D This "mask" uses the tattoo layer, so it does conform to the face. Because it is a mask, i saw no reason to detail it to the face to give the face features

version of the mask to fit more of a female face. I'm going to sell both versions cause it can go on a male or female face. Sadly the ads suck XD for it on the marketplace. It was like five in the morning when i got done. I also realize that naveh and janay have different lips. O_o hum. On this it makes janay have wide lips while naveh has the sweet pucker-up style. :P Kiss me baby. But thats the advantage o it being on the face to conform to your face. Below is just how the different versions look. Its only a change to the lips. I thought the rest was fine. It shows parts of the eyes and so forth cause i felt is a mask so it should do that. Most masks i've warn is. It has a drop shadow to it ot create as if it were lifting off the skin.

I also made a version to go on the face. it suits my artistic sie. You can show your face but have the shadings to the mask. I like it. I'd wear this version to the Mardi Gras party tomorrow night at abby's. Just need a dress :D maybe i'll go as a jester...hum what to wear! :P

Happy Fat Tuesday everyone!

The difference in graphic cards....

As I said, I got my regular computer back from best buy after it being out for two or three months cause it turned out theres was a glitch in the asus energy settings that made it overheat to the point it melted the laptop inside and out. I was estatic to get it back cause I could be in sl more and see sl the way it should been seen, instead of the bad graphics on my old computer. As much as I love my old computer, it made just for listening to music and browsing the internet...which it does wonders with :P Gettting my computer back though didn't realize how great it would be in designing til i fixed my photoshop issue. I went into photoshop to fix the pictures stored on this computer. Below is "Ninja Nay". Its just a form I take to joke around with friends. I pretend to be a ninja then hump them :P hehe. Anyhow, I was working on it then I needed to get closer. Getting close on my old computer was a pain. I just figured it is just an eye issue or something else....Deciphering what was what could be a complete pain. Sometimes I would step away from the computer after a while. A lot of times i removed the wrong thing or completely screwed up.

As you cna see, I was wrong. Its clear and perfect. I can fix things without any issue what so ever. I can tell what pixels are what. I don't worry about removing the wrong ones. Makes me excited for designing clothes and tatts when I get back to it. Looks like I might be able to next week. Just depends on what happens by friday. I found lots of photoshop videos too! woot! Imma watch those over the weekend.

:P I'm easily distracted...especially when i been up all night. No reason, just having fun. Sorry. But I learned something interesting....if you have issues with creating details or getting close then its the graphics card. In many situations a good processor and graphics card can make all the difference! it makes an amazing one here. Due to this only being a laptop, I need to keep this in mind when i get a desktop. A desktop can handle many more things. I'll need that when i get to further levels like scultpies and so forth. ITs good to have a powerful computer for 3d modeling and other things involving second life.

And thats my discovery for today. :D Enjoy!

My serenity

*Cross posted with my regular sl blog*
I sit here and stare. I can stare for endless hours thinking of nothing. I enjoy the light and the emptyness. Most would be concerned or worried. Some would think something's wrong. But, there is peace in this emptiness. Peace that keeps me here and happy. There is a lot of peace in the silence. When the world is crazy and full of noise or tries to keep me going constantantly, I know I can turn here and find peace in the silence. The peace it gives me is the time I have to think and to feel calm. I love the feeling when i have my moments of peace. Its so beautiful when i can just sit here in the peace. Many don't know how many endless hours i spend sitting here and sitting. Sometimes life can get calm or i get so caught up in it that i forget the goodness that is in these moments. I start to feel silly just sitting here staring at emptiness. I forget how helpful it can be for me.

If anyone ever says whatever gives you peace is crazy or unusual...some may say its stupid....tell them it is what you do and don't worry cause they will never understand. We all have crazy and unusual things that are us..but isn't that what makes us who we are? I'm secretly an artistic person. I love the arts. I've forgotten how much I love them til Lina got me messing into photoshop. I love the ability to create in second life. I've always admired it, but i never thought to do it myself. I always said it wasn't me. i'm not a fasion person. I'm not into hair, houses, or any of that. Turns out that I don't need to be. It lets me release a side of me i lost in touch ten years ago. It makes me happy to create in my free time. I can envision what I want and attempt to create it. Thats all we really need is a creative desire to make something more. To know ourselves enough to know what we want and what we wish to create. What may seem empty is full of many things.

Adventures in gimp

So, I've been using gimp the past two days because I got my good laptop back from the shop. It won't let me install photoshop for some reason. Guess I'll keep it on my old laptop for now. I thought when I get more time I'll figure out the issue. Gimp has the basic things photoshop has, but the fun things I use to make clothes or banners aren't there. Only been doodling like below. I didn't like the bracelet i was wearing so i cleared it out then gave myself a new hand by using the clone and smudge tools. Importance of using the clone tool is to always remember the shape o what you're using and to make sure you keep the shades right. If you mess up, burn and dodge is good. I use highlights on skin. Looks funky in general until you use the smudge tool. You can smear around the shades until the hand looks right. Sometimes if you want you can use the blur tool. I've not needed it much. Gimp is okay for basic texture creations. Some things I like to use on clothes are not in gimp, so i still need photoshop. I may look into how to make clothes in gimp for fun.
I am searching for a job irl. Its keeping me busy. I'm only doing photos in my free time until i can get a job and get settled. I'll probably be sharing what i learn about clothes and textures as soon as I start back up again.

have a good day!

eh

Me/Naveh will be taking a break from blogging and sl temporarily. Just gotta take care of a lot of rl things. Will be posting more as soon as rl is in order. I did learn that ETSU has a digital media program that would help learn a lot of things about sl; animation, textures, etc. its pretty cool cause you can do literally anything for virtual enviroments. makes the creative and nerd sides of me cheer.

Bits and good screwups

So, I was screwing around with tattoos cause they don't take as much time up as clothes right now. One tattoo was 32 bit, and I didn't know it when i copied and transferred it onto a clothing template. The tattoo came out looking great, especially compared to the 8 bit ones i uploaded before.
This looked good uploading it so i wanted to see what would happen if i did it to one of my test shirts. Downside to this is a few things done to this test shirt won't shot. I do like some of the quality of the shirts. the dark grey ones are 32 bit and the light grey are 16 bit. The reason they are grey is i copied the grey overlay layer of the shirt to test it.

Oh yeah, fab free makes a great place to turn yourself into the other sex for pictures. Though for me it was sorta creepy to be a guy walking around with a female ao on :p Only changed the shape and the skin, so yeah still had girl pants on too.

3D model

I've been busy with rl so i haven't been working on designs. Well a tattoo or two, but not much. I was talking about the 3D object you can have in photoshop with someone tonight. It works very well in creating clothes and making them complete, even means fixing the seams so they look inline. Its a bit complex. I can't do it myself yet until I have a desktop. Laptops don't have the graphic ability yet. Give it a year or two then we'll talk laptops on this idea. :P Its a good idea and I hear it uploads grea.t the lady who does these videos are only good if you know photoshop or french. both might be good. i can only keep up with so much and she goes way too fast for me....but it does show how good this model works. I'm actually pondering making tutorials myself when I get my skills going. :p

for now, here's the video
